'The Unborn'

You may have noticed the poster for The Unborn, which boasts Odette Yustman's perfectly-shaped arse as the main feature of this supposedly frightful, supernatural horror-thriller.

That's about right. Yustman does spend a majority of the movie prancing about in her underwear, attempting to look frightened by the number of threatening visions that have entered into her life. And while that will no doubt appeal to horny, heterosexual teenage boys -- the film's obvious target audience -- that's not enough for people like me, who anticipate seeing a decent movie. If I want to be entertained my some chick's ass, then I'll watch porn, thank you very much.

So, yeah. Yustman plays Casey Beldon, a college student who suddenly starts seeing horrifying things unfold before her. Of course, everyone thinks she's crazy, and it takes a visit to her Holocaust-surviving grandmother (Jane Alexander) to find out that it's the fault of the Nazis. Apparently, it's their fault that one of Casey's relatives turned into a mythical Jewish demon, named Dybbuk, and now wants to make her life a living hell. Erm, okay then...

Probably the most confusing thing, though, is the very respectable Gary Oldman starring in what feels like a bad remake of The Exorcist -- a shoddy film in its own right. Such a credible actor deserves no place in this cheap, generic, supposedly-"thrilling" movie.

Like Yustman's lower-undergarment, The Unborn is ultimately "pants".
