I consider my ethical set of ideals, principles, doctrines, myths and symbols to relate most closely to the political ideologies Liberal Anti-Racism/Anti-Fascism:
-- "Liberal", relating to Liberalism, meaning a belief in the freedom of the individual, emphasizing the importance of liberty and equal rights;
-- “Anti” meaning opposing:
-- “Racism” being the view that another person is less than human because of their traits and capacities that relate to their race;
-- and “Fascism”, a political behaviour that can coincide with racism (as well as imperialism and nationalism), seeking to oppress a particular group of individuals and establish a singular, collective identity.
It is perhaps worth noting, also, that I am not Pro-Communist or Anti-Capitalist, as many have proclaimed in the past, due to my views being supposedly to the “left” of the political spectrum. I’d actually define myself as “left-right” in that I believe in a mixed economy (somewhere in-between the extremes of Capitalism and Socialism), with an open mind in tackling racism and fascism on both sides.
Be sure, also, to subscribe to my blog to keep up to date with articles relating to the themes of racism/fascism/Islamophobia.
