Due to the changeable stage lighting effects at most venues, the biggest challenge with a digital camera is actually managing to capture a photograph of the subject that is in focus. Of course, I could upgrade to a SLR for a much better result, but I think the portability of the point-and-shoot camera is much more convenient.
