This expanded version to the original top-down shooter was one of my most played games for the Amiga. Intense atmosphere, superbly detailed graphics, run-and-shoot gameplay, and a two-player co-op mode --more than enough to keep the action junkie happy.
Archer Maclean’s Pool (1992)
The sequel to one of the most respected snooker simulations of all time, Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker. The physics and graphics were just as good as the original, but I much prepared this pool simulation --the games were much simpler and much quicker!
Championship Manager ‘93 (1993)
Surely everyone has heard of the Championship Manager series by now? Male or female, it's not uncommon for you or your partner to have spent hours and hours on this fascinating management sim. It didn't matter that it had no in-game graphics or sound considering that the player database was astonishingly huge, and you could build and manage your own football the way you wanted. Takes the award for the most addictive video game I have ever played.
Body Blows (1993)
Body Blows was a hugely successful 2D fighting game, though it's hard to imagine why these days, considering that it was an obvious rip-off of Street Fighter II. Nic and Dan? More like Ryu and Ken.
Superfrog (1993)
A great, simplistic 2D platformer that only got overshadowed by the likes of Sonic and Mario. Varied levels, catchy music and a great main character. Full of charm.
Cannon Fodder (1994)
As soon as you heard the words "War has never been so much fun!" at the intro credits, you knew that you were in for a treat. Point, click and shoot the enemy to pieces... then laugh about it. Ironic gaming, from developers Sensible Software.
“It’s hard to believe now that the chunky, dirty-white hardware was the centre of entertainment in our household, and that the games actually came on floppy disks!"
